Heavenly Popsicles LLC

You could say that Heavenly Popsicle was the result of divine intervention. Co-owners Betiska Campos and George Arriola met at church after she immigrated to El Paso from Panama.

Arriola worked on the sound for the church and plays piano, while Campos participated in the church’s choir. Music brought the two together and they married in 2019.

But Campos and Arriola say that their journey from music to popsicles makes sense, requiring a harmonious combination of all the right ingredients.

“I see a lot of correlations, you know, between music and making our products,” Arriola says. “Putting in the right ingredients and making the recipes – that’s like finding the right combinations to make music.”

Campos and Arriola work in tandem when making their flavorful popsicles, with Campos taking the lead. Making sure her mise en place (a French term used to describe how chefs and cooks have their ingredients ready and organized) is prepared for the popsicle-making process, Campos quickly cuts the fresh fruit that will go into each treat as Arriola prepares other ingredients.

Heavenly Popsicles customizes popsicles with stevia, which can replace sugar in many instances, in the following flavors: mangonada, vanilla, pineapple, orange and blueberry-strawberry.

“There’s no added sugar. We use the stevia plant, and it doesn’t have a bitter taste to it. It’s very natural and very refreshing,” Arriola says.

Campos and Arriola have been selling their popsicles at the Upper Valley Farmer’s Market each week, as well as selling the popsicles at local events. Heavenly Popsicles also delivers to homes and businesses, and caters events such as birthday parties, weddings and more.
